Embassy Group, India’s leading real estate group and WeWork India, the leading flexible workplace provider, today received a global certification from The British Safety Council for Embassy TechVillage and WeWork India’s locations. These certifications were granted for the best in class health and safety practices implemented in controlling the spread of Covid- 19. The global certification by The British Safety Council recognizes an organization’s efforts in taking stringent risk management and control measures to keep the environment safe and secure for all stakeholders. The certification for Embassy Group and WeWork India comes at a time when India is still grappling with an increasing number of Covid-19 cases and effective implementation of safety standards are paramount at workspaces.

Starting weeks prior to the lockdown, the Embassy Group had successfully executed multiple health and safety initiatives across parks including thermal cameras, deep cleaning, sanitization and fumigation activities across all common areas and in high footfall zones, advanced air filtration and cleansing systems, contactless visitor management and other social distancing norms.

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive, British Safety Council commented “As lockdowns have eased and more and more people have started returning to work it is right that workers and employers want to have confidence that every possible step has been taken to keep workplaces safe. With the COVID-19 Assurance Assessment, WeWork India and Embassy TechVillage, which are part of the Embassy Group, have shown that their protocols and associated control arrangements were in accordance with current government and sector specific guidelines at the time of the review and arrangements for continual monitoring of their effectiveness were in place.”

WeWork India is the only shared workspace provider in India to be honored by The British Safety Council.

WeWork India has 40,000 members occupying 60,000 desks in 6 cities spread across more than 5 million sq feet. Since the lockdown, WeWork India has undertaken several safety protocols to maintain safety and hygiene of all its tenants and employees. The certification confirms WeWork India’s rigor to follow global-standard – hygiene and safety protocols across all its locations in India.

Commenting on WeWork India’s future ready workspaces and commitment to its members, Karan Virwani, CEO, WeWork India said, “The impact of COVID-19 has been felt across industries and businesses including the flexible workspaces industry which has led us to re-strategize operations and re-evaluate what lies ahead. The health and safety of our community has been our top priority. By implementing processes and procedures, we aim to ensure our community returns stronger and healthier than before.
