Pawan Khurana, CEO, QuantM talks about the company’s growing competencies in cloud, social, mobility, cognitive, analytics, and automation domains

Please briefly tell us about your journey as an IT solution provider?

It all started 23 years ago when our founder and MD, Sanjay Bakshi, took the first step towards setting up QuantM as IT services provider. The ambition was to assist enterprises and corporates in setting up and managing world class IT infrastructure. Along the journey, we signed up partnerships with most of the OEMS and transformed into an infrastructure solutions provider. Along the way we acquired the most prestigious logos across as our customer. Today, we have established competencies in cloud, managed services, outsourcing and building strong inroads in the new age solutions around cognitive, analytics and automation.

How has been growth for your company in the last one year?

The last one year has been very good for us. We achieved a rev of INR 120 crore in India business as an SP and USD 4 million in our IoT services business that we setup in US about 4 years ago.

What are your key areas of expertise?

While we continue to do well in our long established areas like SI, Cloud, Managed services, we are growing our expertise in social, cognitive, mobile, analytics and automation. We have majority of our clients in Automotive, Manufacturing, Insurance, Services, E-Commerce, Hospitality and Entertainment verticals. Our partnerships are with IBM, AWS, Google, HP, Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Dell, EMC, Citrix, Symantec and many more.

Most of our proud moments have come from our work in the social, analytics and cloud services. There are quite a few interesting projects we have done in these areas like running an application vendor’s customer cloud in a multi tenancy environment or doing predictive customer behaviour analytics solution in retail environment.

What are some of the key business innovations that you have done to stay ahead of your peers in the industry?

Our focus has been mostly on innovating around our service delivery processes. We recently created a new tool for automating mail migration from one particular technology platform to another, leading to around 30-35% shortening of delivery cycle and improved data integrity. Another innovation was in project management that helped us in reducing our service delivery cost by 12-15% and also winning us accolades from the global delivery leader of one of our OEM application partner.

What are your strengths in terms of core technologies?

At the core of our business is our ability to understand IT infrastructure and its various components under the application layer.

What sort of opportunities do new technology areas like IoT and Artificial Intelligence among others bring for a solutions provider?

IoT is already an important play for us. Our US business is purely built on delivering IoT services, with USD $ 4 M revenue last year within just 4 years of starting this business. We expect this to be the growth leader for us. AI is surely a new area where we have been investing over the last 1.5 years. Our crack team has already conjured up a few innovative solutions around support automation, predictive analytics, assisted shopping.

Our work in the AI, IoT and cloud services area is helping our customer make the transformation. It is a long journey and the transformation would probably be a continuous activity for next 5 years at least.
