Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and ABB have announced an expansion of their 18-year partnership to modernize ABB’s digital infrastructure and establish a unified digital foundation for the company’s next phase of growth.

Under this multi-year collaboration, TCS will implement ABB’s Future Hosting Model — a next-generation, modular IT infrastructure that enables predictive operations, faster service restoration, and continuous security through TCS’ AI-powered Zero Ops framework. The initiative is aimed at simplifying ABB’s global IT landscape and enhancing resilience, agility, and innovation.

“Our extended partnership with TCS strengthens ABB’s ability to deliver value to customers. By modernising our hosting operations, we’re creating a foundation for agility, faster innovation, and improved reliability,” said Alec Joannou, Group CIO, ABB.

Building on nearly two decades of collaboration across ERP, cloud migration, and data center consolidation, the new engagement will accelerate ABB’s Core Platform Vision — focusing on large-scale modernization, automation, cloud adoption, and data-driven orchestration.

“This milestone marks a bold step towards reimagining ABB’s hosting landscape with a modular, future-ready architecture. At the core lies a shared vision: technology must empower people, enhance agility, and drive intelligent, responsible operations,” said Anupam Singhal, President – Manufacturing, TCS.

The partnership will also leverage TCS’ managed services platform architecture to provide ABB with flexibility for future integrations, including mergers, acquisitions, and carve-outs. A cloud-first, data-driven governance approach will further enable ABB to reduce its carbon footprint while improving operational efficiency.

“With TCS as our strategic partner, the Future Hosting Model strengthens ABB’s commitment to building modular, scalable hosting services that drive agility and innovation,” added Peter Alkema, Global Head of IS Technology and Platforms, ABB.

With a presence in Europe for over 45 years, TCS continues to serve as a trusted technology partner to leading enterprises, backed by a network of 62 offices across 21 countries. Recognized as the #1 in Customer Satisfaction by Whitelane Research for 12 consecutive years, TCS remains committed to delivering next-generation, AI-driven transformation at scale.
