Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company, announced new innovations to empower organizations to deploy agentic AI at scale and deliver trusted, enterprise-grade insights. The updates include the general availability of Snowflake Intelligence, along with major advancements to Snowflake Horizon Catalog, Openflow, and a new suite of developer tools designed to simplify and accelerate AI app development.
Democratizing AI Across the Enterprise
Now generally available, Snowflake Intelligence acts as an enterprise AI agent that lets every user query complex data in natural language and generate instant insights — all within Snowflake’s secure, governed environment. More than 1,000 global customers, including Cisco, Toyota Motor Europe, and TS Imagine, have already deployed over 15,000 AI agents using Snowflake Intelligence.
Powered by industry-leading models from providers such as Anthropic, Snowflake Intelligence is up to three times faster on text-to-SQL queries. The company’s new Agent GPA (Goal, Plan, Action) framework detects up to 95% of query errors, achieving near-human accuracy.
Expanding the Enterprise Lakehouse for AI
Enhancements to Snowflake Horizon Catalog and Openflow make all enterprise data — structured, unstructured, and semi-structured — accessible for AI agents. These upgrades improve governance, interoperability, and open data sharing across clouds and formats.
Snowflake has also introduced interactive tables, real-time streaming analytics, and integration with Oracle’s change data capture, enabling enterprises to act on live data within seconds for use cases such as fraud detection, personalization, and IoT monitoring.
Following its acquisition of Crunchy Data, Snowflake also announced Snowflake Postgres, a fully managed service bringing Postgres into the Snowflake environment, alongside pg_lake, an open-source extension for developers integrating Postgres with the lakehouse.
Empowering Developers with AI-Native Tools
To supercharge developer productivity, Snowflake introduced several AI-native tools including:
Cortex Code, an AI assistant for optimizing Snowflake queries through natural language.
Cortex AISQL, enabling scalable AI pipelines and automated redaction of sensitive data.
Workspaces, a unified environment with Git and VS Code integration for real-time collaboration.
Projects on Snowflake, allowing developers to build and monitor projects natively.
