Salesforce and AWS join forces to accelerate AI transformation for agentic enterprises

0

As organizations worldwide embrace agentic AI to automate workflows and augment human expertise, Salesforce and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are expanding their long-standing partnership to help enterprises securely deploy and scale AI-driven systems. The collaboration builds on nearly a decade of innovation between the two companies and focuses on four key pillars: unified data, secure and interoperable AI agents, modernized contact centers, and simplified procurement of AI solutions through AWS Marketplace.

According to Salesforce’s Agentic Enterprise Index, the first half of 2025 saw a 119% surge in AI agents created and deployed by businesses, a 65% month-over-month rise in employee interaction with agents, and a 35% increase in conversation duration—signaling that AI agents are becoming essential in enterprise operations.

“The cloud transformed how enterprises operate, and now agentic AI is driving the next evolution,” said Ruba Borno, Vice President of Global Specialists and Partners, AWS. “AWS and Salesforce are helping customers navigate this shift by making advanced AI accessible, secure, and outcome-oriented — through integrations with Amazon Connect, AWS Clean Rooms, Amazon Bedrock, and AWS Marketplace, where Salesforce has already surpassed $2 billion in lifetime sales.”

Brian Landsman, CEO of AppExchange & Global Partnerships at Salesforce, added, “This next phase of our partnership is about enabling businesses to evolve into agentic enterprises — where every organization operates with infinite capacity and precision by combining human expertise with AI-powered agents.”

Unified Data and Trusted Insights

At the core of AI transformation lies secure, unified data. Salesforce’s Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud) and AWS’s Zero Copy integration enable customers to access data from Amazon Redshift without replication, reducing complexity and improving decision-making.

1-800Accountant, a shared customer, uses this integration to power AI agents that autonomously resolve 70% of tax-season inquiries. “With Data 360 and AWS, our AI agents can create personalized customer experiences and deliver meaningful answers without replicating every piece of data,” said Ryan Teeples, CTO, 1-800Accountant.

Building on this, Data 360 Clean Rooms now integrates with AWS Clean Rooms, allowing companies like Expedia Group to collaborate securely with advertisers to measure campaign performance and ROI without exposing raw data — preserving both privacy and compliance.

Expanding AI Agent Collaboration and Security

Salesforce’s Agentforce platform, available on AWS Marketplace, allows enterprises to deploy interoperable, multi-vendor AI agents that collaborate securely across workflows. Using open standards such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent2Agent (A2A), Agentforce agents can coordinate with agents built on Amazon Bedrock, enhancing transparency and control.

Through Agentforce’s Atlas Reasoning Engine, enterprises can leverage Anthropic’s models hosted on Amazon Bedrock within Salesforce’s Trust Boundary, ensuring all AI traffic remains within a secure virtual private cloud (VPC). Toyota Motor North America plans to use this setup to automate customer service workflows such as appointment scheduling and loaner vehicle management.

Modernizing Contact Centers

Over 1,000 customers and 100,000 human agents already use Agentforce Voice (formerly Service Cloud Voice), which integrates with Amazon Connect to enhance customer experiences. Businesses can now extend AI-driven voice self-service while ensuring seamless transitions to human representatives when needed.

“Customers expect their contact centers to be open, intelligent, and easy to deploy,” said Pasquale DeMaio, VP of Amazon Connect. “Integrating Agentforce Voice with Amazon Connect enables businesses to handle routine calls through AI while ensuring smooth handoffs to live agents.”

Simplified Procurement and Global Reach

Salesforce’s availability on AWS Marketplace is simplifying how enterprises discover, purchase, and manage AI solutions. Since joining in 2023, Salesforce has expanded to 30 countries and become AWS Marketplace’s fastest-growing seller, with standardized contracts, flexible pricing, and integrated billing streamlining adoption.

“By purchasing Salesforce through AWS Marketplace, we accelerated deployment, streamlined procurement, and built a best-in-class tech stack,” said Orr Zilcha, Director of Procurement at Deel.

With over 30 listings on AgentExchange, Salesforce’s AI agent marketplace, customers can now access prebuilt, customizable AI workflows to transform into truly agentic enterprises—operating with greater automation, insight, and scale than ever before.
