As companies of all sizes are upping the ante for remote working in a Covid-19 world, SaaS based unified communication and conferencing (UCC) platform and players such as LogMeIn , Zoom, Slack, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, as well as home grown players have intensified the game like never before.  Each of these players are charging organisations either pay per use model, or in some cases giving away for free all their premium tools and service support, owing to the digital demand of real-time collaboration and remote working for essential services.

LogMeIn is working actively towards enhancing its product features to meet the digital workforce demand coming from metro and non-metro parts of India. The company is now looking at connecting businesses operating with internet challenges.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with CRN India, Rahul Sharma, MD – India, LogMeIn, informs, “With a platform that supports tens of millions of daily users, over a billion customer interactions and 20 billion voice minutes per year, we are one the leading and trusted players for companies of every size to create meaningful connections. We offer a modern enterprise video communication platform, with an easy, reliable cloud platform for video and audio conferencing, collaboration, chat, and webinars across mobile devices, desktops, telephones, and room systems.”

The popularity of platforms has surged in the recent months as millions of people around the world are forced to work from home due to the coronavirus pandemic. During these unprecedented times, a lot of non-enterprise focused customers have also started using LogMeIn. After North America, India has one of the largest growing users base for its products like GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar.

With countries going into lockdown, virtual technology provider LogMeIn has noticed significant increase in usage of all of its digital products. Today, the company’s priorities include enabling organisations to work from anywhere, maintain business continuity and using technology without much of human intervention. Presently, the video conferencing platform has three key business units, wherein UCC business has received highest adoption across industries size.

Sharma adds, “We have seen week over week growth in user capacity on the product by about 10X per week in last two-three months.”

Today, LogMeIn solutions are catering to solo entrepreneurs of up to 300,000 users. Another area of growth for the company is converting offline business of  SMB and SMEs into digital, located in smaller towns. “Today, our sales team is engaged in reaching out to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, as these markets are not largely familiar with our products. We are seeing healthy growth from newer markets,” he says.

Highlighting the product strengths, Sharma says, “Price aside, our customers using our solutions over other players is primarily for three reasons: security, easy of use and scalability. In the history of our product, we and our customers have never reported any security breach on our solution. Our solution allows any size of user to deploy the solution and scale it as per the business need.”

When asked how customers are preparing for a post-Covid world, Sharma points out, “We see our customers are more aware of remote working and receptive to it, they’re more open to embracing newer ways of working. We will continue to make our platforms more robust, scalable and efficient to take remote working to new levels, even beyond areas where there is low internet.”
