Proximus Global has announced the launch of Konera, its global network API aggregation platform, at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2025. The platform connects mobile operators, enterprises, and developers through a unified API ecosystem, enabling access to network-powered capabilities that support fintech innovation.
Aligned with the GSMA’s CAMARA standardization initiative, Konera—a blend of “connection” and “era”—brings together APIs from multiple mobile network operators (MNOs) under one platform. This approach allows enterprises and developers to integrate communications features more efficiently and with broader global reach.
Konera builds on the foundation of Telesign’s MNO Phone ID and intelligence API services and leverages relationships with over 300 MNOs through BICS. The platform combines these capabilities to expand enterprise offerings across India and other global markets.
“INDIA’S DIGITAL ECONOMY IS GROWING RAPIDLY, SUPPORTED BY A STRONG DEVELOPER ECOSYSTEM AND INCREASING DEMAND FOR INTEROPERABLE SOLUTIONS,” SAID RAJDIP GUPTA, MANAGING DIRECTOR & CEO OF ROUTE MOBILE, A PROXIMUS GLOBAL COMPANY. “KONERA IS DESIGNED TO HELP OPERATORS EXPLORE NEW MONETIZATION MODELS AND MAKE INTEGRATION SIMPLER FOR ENTERPRISES.”
According to Analysys Mason, global spending on CAMARA-based network APIs is expected to grow by 1,282%, from USD $550 million in 2024 to USD $7.6 billion by 2030.
Proximus Global currently supports more than 100 enterprises with identity and verification services powered by 70 operators across 20 countries. In India, the company is partnering with major telecom networks and MNOs to expand API coverage to 92% of the country by the end of 2025.
“Network APIs enable operators to turn network assets into programmable tools for use in areas such as identity verification, fraud prevention, and user experience enhancement,” said Jorn Vercamert, Chief Product Officer, Proximus Global. “Standardization through GSMA’s CAMARA initiative is essential, but there is also a need for easier access and deployment. Konera addresses both requirements by offering a single interface for delivery and consumption.”
