ISODA looks at launching new chapters

The Infotech Software Dealers Association (ISODA) recently concluded its Annual General Meeting in Mahabalipuram, near Chennai. As per the protocol, existing Vice Chairman and Vice President took over as Chairman and President respectively. The Secretary and Treasurer were elected unopposed. New Vice Chairman and Vice President were chosen by unanimous voice vote. This was formally announced to all members present at the gathering by the returning officer, Prashant Jain who presided the session.

N K Mehta, Managing Director, Secure Network Solutions became the Chairman, after being the Vice Chairman last year. Gunasegharan Krishnan, Director, eCaps Computers became the President after being the Vice President last year. Amarnath Shetty, Managing Director, LDS Infotech was elected as Vice Chairman and Manasi Saha, Managing Director, Macaws Infotech was elected as the Vice President. Vimesh Avlani, Proprietor, Graftronics was elected as Secretary and Ravi Jalan, Proprietor, Sakti Enterprises was elected as Treasurer.

In addition, L Ashok, CEO, Futurenet Technologies, was announced as the TechSummit 9 Chairperson and will be presenting to the community shortly on when and where will the flagship event take place.

The achievements of the previous team were also presented. Some key achievements included a successful TechSummit 8 at Malaysia, increased acceptance to ISODA monthly mouthpiece called Interconnect, addition of about 30 members across the country including newer states and cities and overall governance of working as a team.

After the elections and swearing in of the new managing committee, a session was delivered by keynote speaker Padmashree T N Manoharan, Chairman Canara Bank . The topic, ‘Learning from Satyam Fiasco’, provided insights of Satyam fiasco and why there’s a need to run companies with ethics and integrity. This was followed by presentations with two in-house sponsors. Xcellhost presented about managed SoC and Systech presented about Parallel. Day 2 saw another keynote speaker, Kumar Vembu, Founder, ZOHO, sharing his entrepreneurial journey and the finer tips of customer support and talent management.

The AGM concluded with Canara Bank’s senior executives giving presentation on SME funding options followed by feedback and vote of thanks. The new managing committee include:

The top priorities for ISODA Management Committee this year will be: Creating five-year leadership plans with a long term vision in mind, long term leadership to create greater focus on the vision of ISODA, well known succession plan to maintain the continuity; create a platform to help members in matters related to their business cycle; increased digital adoption for more visibility to ISODA and ISODA members, market ISODA website better, create more social media buzz, create more collaboration opportunities; increased liasioning with government authorities, other industry and IT associations; continue the focus to increase the membership in more states and having more chapters (four to five new chapters); new Chapters like Jaipur, Bengaluru to be encouraged to have more members.
