Silicon Netsecure protects over 115 public facing servers and virtual machines of NBFC


Mumbai based multi branded enterprise security provider, Silicon Netsecure specialises in information security, storage and backup solutions, DR, virtualisation, business continuity and emailing solutions. It largely focuses on solutions such as data leakage prevention, encryption, SIEM, lPS, Firewalls, APT, MDM, SLB and GSLB solutions, IAM and PIM solutions, and cloud solutions with a strong hold in customer-application deployment scenarios.

Recently, a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC)  approached Silicon to protect 115+ public facing servers and virtual machines against Ransomware threat. They also needed to secure their network across all their locations as a part of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) security standards.

Based on the customer’s requirement, the Silicon team suggested Sonicwall and McAfee’s Firewall brands with integrated ATP feature and it was deployed at the DC and site offices. The deployed solution was able to granularly control the endpoint access based on the corporate policies. Adding ATP and Application Control on the servers and endpoints was an added layer of security to prevent Ransomware attacks. The project was carried out at a massive scale covering 115 plus servers at the DC, Firewalls at 57 locations and around 3450+ users were benefited.

All the devices were per-configured at Silicon’s office and then shipped at the customer ‘s end. The solution was remotely deployed thereby saving staff travel time and deployment cost as well as kept the TCO very low. For a fairly large NBFC with pan India presence up-time is extremely critical. The zero day threats were an issue for the client given that they have 115+ number of public facing servers. The public data stored by them as a part of compliance securing the same was required as per government norms. It helped achieve the same by having dual layer of protection at the gateway and endpoint. This helped prevent any zero day threat attacks to the entire network, thereby securing it thoroughly.

The outcome of the project kept the RoI and TCO as per the satisfaction level. The proactive customer support rather than reactive one boosts the client confidence and helps the company with support renewals as well. The partner deployed best of breed products in the shorted time span of 45 days. The success of this project is purely dedicated to the highly professional team of Silicon Netsecure. The time frame in which the project is completed is itself one of the achievements of this project.

The entire process, from delivery, set up, to final migration, took only 45 days. There was no loss of work hours for the company to implement this project successfully. The customer has not only saved the cost on implementation but also moved forward from the earlier complex security infrastructure. Lastly, with multiple products being deployed, Silicon provided two management consoles for ease of management and time saving for the client.
