Devendra Taneja, Director, PC Solutions talks about how cloud based solutions are enabling enterprises transform their businesses

Tell us about your journey as an IT solution provider?

My personal journey through PC Solutions as a solutions provider has been extremely satisfying. It comes from great satisfaction of being able to support and facilitate around 800 plus families meet their life’s aspirations living respectfully.

We started our journey in 1988 as TPM (third party maintenance) organization for any brand of PCs. Later on, we also started providing outsourced services on SLA basis. By 1993, we transformed our business totally from AMC services to Facility Management Services (FMS) and networking solutions. In 2005, we created Projects and Consultancy (P &C) group with the charter of helping SMEs and Enterprises chalk out and implement their IT infrastructure strategy. And by 2007, we moved out of edge devices business (laptop and desktop).

By 2011, we had great credentials with our customers for our services in data centre and infrastrucutre space easily landing us global assignments. From 2011 to 2015, we won four time National Technology Partner of the year award from Microsoft. From 2012 onwards, we expanded our services to hybrid cloud, public cloud, app and software development domain as well. In each of these domains, we have a plenty of projects successfully rolled out. We had our resources executing projects in around 150 plus countries, sometime or the other in last five years through physical travel or with the help of NOC.

Tell us about your current business operations and how has been the growth in recent times?

The last fiscal year has been excellent year for us, wherein we grew by 35 percent in terms of top line and bottom line and clocked a revenue of  ` 212 crore.

The areas of expertise include custom software development on Microsoft platform; app development; consultancy and solutions in public cloud, hybrid cloud, IoT and AI, data centre, data security, and systems integration; NOC managed services, and FMS services.

Our regular operations are at NCR, Mumbai, Bangaluru plus execution teams travel to all parts of the world. We have major partnerships with Microsoft, HPE, Cisco, Veritas, Citrix, VMware, Symantec, and Red Hat among others.

What have been your major projects?

We have executed projects for different verical industries, including government, IT/ITeS, and fertilizer. Some of these include development of Motor Vehicle Theft FIR Mobile and Web App for Delhi Police, a Senior Citizen Mobile and Web App for Delhi Police, and an Azure cloud based VMS Portal for Maharashtra CID. We also provided cloud-based solution to NIIT Technologies to achieve scalability and mobility; upgraded SQL data platform for HCL Technologies; deployed and rolled out MS Office 365 for Genpact; implemented Microsoft Enterprise Mobility & Security for UPL (United Phosphorous).

How do you constantly innovate to stay relevant in the market?

Thanks to our deep and extended relationships with leading OEMs and global enterprise customers, challenges of PoCs on newer technologies and solutions are invested by PC Solutions. Though costly, this helps us get first hand experiences on things to come and as and when PoCs get converted in to pilot or main stream projects, we are natural choice of implementation partner.

What sort of opportunities do new technology areas like IoT and Artificial Intelligence among others bring it for a solution provider?

Cloud , IoT and AI are going to open up a huge lot of new areas of automation in every walk of human life, industries and services. Standards and devices of IoT are evolving and so are the platforms for AI. Hence, we shall engage with multiple leaders of the domain chain to be able to offer best suited solution to multiple segments of the market.

What are your future plans?

We wish to create products out of IPs accumulated while executing solutions to the customers and through the cloud take it to geographies that were beyond our reach so far.
